Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. He blends soul gospel jazz with R&B in a distinct mix. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway through the Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang as well as performed piano. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical instruction began with Atlanta's R&B Scene. She also lent her voice to the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was commissioned to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to be the choral leader for this theatrical production. Sunshine rose to prominence throughout the four performances in 2008. Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing during Barack Obama's Inauguration in 2009.
