Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist, and competing with the UFC flyweight division. She is also the older sister of former UFC Flyweight champion and the fellow UFC athlete Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko started her combat sports journey as an Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut in the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament and defeated Suzane Miller at the end of the tournament by an unanimous decision. Antonina received a gold medal in 2007, a silver medal in 2008, a silver in 2007 and she also won a bronze medal in 2008 and a medal gold in 2011. She was also crowned IFMA World Amateur Muaythai Champion in 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia launched her professional career when she was in the year 2003. She has taken home numerous titles including the K-1 World Championships the Lion Fight Lightweight Championships as well as the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's last fight was against Isa Tiedblad Keskikangas, who was fighting at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by unanimity. Antonina Schevchenko broke her professional MMA records in 2002, when she took on Anara Bazanova at KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She was victorious in the second round TKO, and then won 2 additional fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships to earn a 3-0 record. Shevchenko was forced to take a break in order to pursue boxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui in Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko defeated Anissa in a unanimously-decided match after which she beat Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. Following the league's dissolution in 2018, Shevchenko joined Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina's formidable strike abilities enabled her to TKO Nievera via knees in the body. After this win, Antonina was offered the chance to sign a UFC contract. Antonina Shychenko debuted in the UFC in the TUF Heavy Hitters finals, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi via split decision fight, after prevailing in the initial bout by a unanimity. Antonina recovered from this loss by defeating Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler through rear-naked-choke submission. The result earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her next 3 fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski but lost to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina has been defeated recently by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
