Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television presenter in the US and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and an energised persona on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides straightforward and simple methods for cooks at home. Chef Burrell was a student and worked in some of the most prestigious New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the culinary landscape of Italy. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by cooking and food at an early age. After obtaining an English and Communication degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the business of restaurant by enroling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing opportunity for me. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. After graduation, chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, and this has left an impact on her own culinary perspective. Burrell is a well-known ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists children with obstacles. Burrell travels extensively across the nation in her capacity as a mentor as well as a an invited speaker, where she talks about her career and love of cooking. Anne in all her culinary journey has stated that it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to share this passion for life with others.
